Coverage is the stock you hold plus what is already on order, in months of production. I set it for each material and change it when the market changes.

3+3, 6+6 or 12+6: how much polymer stock should an importer hold?

Every purchasing manager is pulled two ways. Finance wants less cash tied up in stock; production wants never to stop a line. The answer is not one number. It is a coverage level that moves with the market: the stock you hold plus what is already on order, counted in months of production.

3+3: stock optimisation

Three months in stock and three on order. It frees cash, but it only works if all of your supply is local. If you import most of your polymers, one missed shipment or one LC problem can stop your lines.

6+6: cost optimisation

The standard choice for imported, oil- and gas-based feedstock polymers in normal markets. It gives you room to buy on the price dips without overstocking.

12+6: risk mitigation

A calculated buffer for wars, route closures and force majeure. In 2020, 2022 and 2024 this was the level that kept production running while others stopped, and it was bought at the low points, not in panic.

Is my company's data kept confidential?

Yes. We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before you share any purchase data, and your company name is never published without your written consent. All results on this site are shown without naming the company.

How does working together start?

With a free spend review of 60–90 minutes. You share last year's purchases, I show you where the money is going, and then I propose the service that fits: a strategy, monthly advice, or a performance partnership.

What data do you need from us?

Your purchases for the last 12–24 months by grade (volume, price, supplier and payment terms), current stock and open orders, monthly consumption, and any limits on LCs or foreign currency.

Do you take commissions from suppliers?

No. I take no commissions from suppliers and am paid only by the client, so my advice is fully independent. Your team places the orders; I advise on what, when, from whom and at what target price.

Is there a minimum volume?

Monthly Advisory starts from 5,000 tonnes a year. Category Strategy, Sourcing Management and the free spend review are designed for buyers of 15,000 tonnes a year or more. The market report has no minimum.

Do you work with companies outside Egypt?

Yes, across the Middle East and Africa. The fees on the Services page are shown for your region automatically.

In what format do we receive the work?

Reports and presentations in PDF. Working tools, such as the decision matrix and the buying plan, also in Excel where useful to your team.

How are fees paid?

By bank transfer against an official invoice. Clients in Egypt pay in Egyptian pounds, by bank transfer or InstaPay, at the exchange rate on the transfer date. All other clients pay in US dollars by international bank transfer. Bank details are sent with each invoice.
